Program Cancellation Policy:
Workforce Training Institute may cancel course at any time prior to the start date because of low enrollment based on the minimum required number of students, space availability, and budget. In the event of this occurring, a full refund will be issued.
Withdraw, Transfer, and Refund Policy:
Student must submit a typed/written statement in person or by mail to WTI for consideration to withdraw, transfer or refund. Approvals may only be made for unusual or mitigating circumstances. Examples of mitigating circumstances include but are not limited to: Death in the family, serious illness, or other reasons which are beyond the student's control. Failing to make academic progress in current course will not constitute eligibility to transfer to a new course or any type of refund.
NOTE: $300.00 IS NON-REFUNDABLE; funds are used to purchase course training supplies ordered before course start date and administration fees.

This program prepares students to be professional medical assistants dedicated to patient care management. Graduates are equipped to assist physicians with examinations and treatments, take medical histories, perform diagnostic tests, expose, sterilize instruments and supplies, assist with minor surgery and administer medications.
The program goal is to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Students must pass the HIPPA and OSHA quiz and the Elder Abuse.
Student who successfully complete the Program with an 80% in instruction and 80% in externship will be eligible to take an optional certification examination offered by the California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA) and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Medical Assistant Administrative and Clinical Curriculum:
Program: 280 hours of classroom and hands-on learning
Externship Placement: 180 hours
Note: Students must pass drug screen and background check to be placed in externship
18 years of age
High School Graduate, GED or High School equivalency
Foreign high school diploma. Requires complete foreign transcript degree evaluation.

Go to Locke 107 to register in-person and sign a Payment Agreement.
To make the first required payment, bring a check or money order payable to SJDC for $600.00 Credit/Debit cards are also acceptable.
5 monthly payments of $422.00 will follow until program is paid-in-full.
