This total 18-hour class is designed for healthcare professionals as an introduction to basic ECG/EKG interpretation. The student will be introduced to functional anatomy and electrophysiology principals/concepts. Fundamental ECG interpretation of normal and abnormal rhythms/dysrhythmias is covered according to American Heart Association (AHA), Heart Rhythm Society, and American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) definitions and guidelines.

Practice ECG interpretative sessions and quizzes will be utilized throughout the course to reinforce and evaluate the student's comprehension of material.

No required textbooks needed, however any basic ECG book is recommended (e.g. Dale Dubin: Rapid Interpretation of EKG's (6thEd.). You will receive study materials in class.

Student must pass exam with 75% or higher

Certificate of Completion will be given via DocuSign (electronically) after class is completed.

Continuing Education Units: 18 credit hours (RNs/LVNs)

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY: Workforce Training Institute may cancel workshop/class at any time prior to the start date because of low enrollment based on the minimum required number of students, space availability, and budget.

Register Early! If we do not have minimum enrollment 48 hours before class starts, class may be cancelled.
